Does anyone here have detailed knowledge of Gainsville, Florida? I've decided to set a novel there, and I figured I'd supplement my internet-based education on the city with real-life stuff, if anyone has experience.
Dude, there's this great thing out there called libraries! :P Actually, I'm thinking that Gainesville has an interesting history (perhaps I'm confusing it with something else I read, though)? I'll try to look it up sometime...
Are you setting it in the present now? Or is it still all cool and '70s?
Actually, I was hoping that someone reading this had actually *been* there. There's a lot of personal experience stuff that I can't find in reference books, and if I want to give my story a personal touch, I think I need it.
And yeah - this is definitely in the present. That '70s idea nearly killed me!
